WE ARE LOOKING FOR SPONSORS
Not just financial sponsors though we need that was well
WE NEED SPACE
In The Greater Toronto Area to host our clothing exchanges and banks in. We wish to rotate between Between as many regions of the GTA as possible once a month to service all of The GTA.
We also are in desperate need of storage space to store donations between exchanges
WE NEED CLOTHES
We are always looking for clothes... we especially need Plus Size and Men's/Masculine clothing immediately!!!
We would love local businesses to sponsor a clothing drive at their space... why donate to For-Profit stores that masquerade as non-profits who donate less then 1% of their profits while selling items that they pay nothing to acquire??
TRANSTRADE PEEL AT A GLANCE
Your Distinct Identity
TransTrade Peel knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives.
Many Trans, Gender Diverse and GRSM folx are marginalized or low/no income, for those, purchasing clothing and accessories that match their gender identity or true-self is out of their financial situations prevent them from being comfortable or being able to control or live with their dysmorphia issues.
Many of us have severe depression over our bodies as well as a condition known as Body Dysmorphia* and can feel shame about the way we can or cannot present. This contributes to the high number of Trans folx especially trans women of colour attempting or committing suicide. Another contributing factor is transphobia if we dress a certain way but seem masculine IE a transwoman with particularly traditionally masculine features IE body hair or Facial hair that although we shaved in the morning or prior to going out may grow during the day as in 5 o’clock shadow, we can be the target of ridicule and violence.
The goal for TransTrade Peel is to give trans and non-binary folx the chance to be comfortable in their own bodies and clothes.
